Ohio man jailed for swiping bags from airport

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- Police at a central Ohio airport say a man has been arrested six times over the past decade for stealing luggage from the airport's baggage carousels.

The latest bust at Port Columbus International Airport got Michael White a two-year prison sentence. That was in May, when police said he stole a knapsack and suitcase. He pleaded guilty.

Airport police Sgt. Troy Mills said the 48-year-old White also served time after three of the previous arrests at the airport. He was first arrested in 2003.

The Columbus Dispatch (http://bit.ly/R6wwOH ) reports that White has been arrested in the baggage terminal and at a city bus stop. He was once arrested after police said he tried to sell a stolen camera to a pawn shop.

His public defender declined to comment.
