BOSTON HEIGHTS Tiki Underground, a new Tiki Bar and Restaurant is now open in Boston Heights. Located on Old Route 8 just south of Route 303, on the border of Boston Heights and Hudson, Tiki Underground unites Polynesian cocktails and food with traditional bar favorites.
Owners Sean and Jessie Coffey have traveled around the country to share ideas and learn the tiki culture that originated in the 1930s and is still prevalent in California, Hawaii and Florida. The interior dcor features handmade lighting from Columbus, several Witco pieces, and both lighting and a unique carving original displayed at the Kahiki Supper Club.
The initial cocktails they are serving feature Hurricane, Chi Chi, and the house favorite the Painkiller, which involves the choice of Level 1-4 based on the amount of rum desired.
The dining menu includes island favorites like coconut shrimp, edamame, tropical habanero wings and a Maui burger with teriyaki and grilled pineapple. It also offers visitors traditional bar favorites like wings, wraps, jalapeno poppers, fried pickles, tacos and quesadillas.
