About 5,000 expected to attend job fair at Hard Rock Rocksino Northfield Park

Northfield Village — A job fair offering more than 600 full-time positions at the Hard Rock Rocksino at Northfield Park is expected to draw between 3,000 and 5,000 applicants tomorrow between 1 and 7 p.m., said David Schulz, advertising manager for the facility.
The job fair will take place between 1 and 7 p.m.
“When it’s all said and done, including the construction workers that are currently working there, we’ll have well over 700 jobs we’re bringing to the Northeast Ohio area,” Schulz said.
People attending the event will have the chance to meet hiring managers and get an idea of the positions available, which include servers, cooks, bussers, managers, a wardrobe seamstress, retail supervisors and associates, security supervisors and officers, payroll supervisors and coordinators for advertising, public relations and special events and promotions.
Schulz said he also encourages college students to consider attending the job fair, as internships in fields such as advertising and public relations are also available.
With construction still taking place, parking at Northfield Park is limited to 750 spaces, so arrangements have been made to handle the thousands of job seekers expected to pack Route 8 in Northfield Village on their way to the site.
Once the lot is full at Northfield Park, people will be directed to the north parking lot of the Ford production plant just up the road in Walton Hills. A shuttle will take people from the plant to the Rocksino.
Schulz said that based on the number of people who showed up at similar events, including the job fair for the Horseshoe Casino in Cleveland, he expects about 5,000 job seekers.
Since so many people are expected to attend, those wishing to attend the event do not need to bring their resumé and will not be asked to fill out applications. Instead, the job fair is meant to provide information about jobs that are available, Schultz said. Those interested in applying for jobs are being asked to apply online.
About eight booths, representing eight Rocksino departments, will provide information to people regarding jobs that may interest them.
“We’re expecting so many people here, we want everybody to have an opportunity to get in and get the information they’re looking for,” Schulz said.
