The traditional closing band for the annual Bedford Parties in the Park is returning on the final night, Aug. 31.
The Frank Moravcik Band will entertain the crowd at the Bedford Commons with polkas, waltzes and other dance music. Over the past many years, Moravcik has drawn large crowds to Bedford. He is well-known throughout Ohio, Pennsylvania and Indiana for his mellow style of polka that all can dance to.
As usual, the evening will end with the singing of "God Bless America," led by MC Chuck St. John, followed by the awarding of door prizes and 50-50 cash drawings.
The Parties in the Park are sponsored by the Southeast Region Chamber of Commerce, with Bob Spinks as president. The evening will be gin at 6:30 p.m. and end at 8:30 p.m. Those attending are invited to bring lawn chairs and reminded there is plenty of parking in downtown Bedford.
