It's never too late for fish

Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary

The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6768 Auxiliary invites the community to its annual simple fish fry each Friday in Lent through April 14.

Meals will be served in the Post hall from 5 to 7 p.m.

Prices range from $6 to $9 and the menu includes one piece of fish with fries and slaw, two pieces of fish with fries and slaw, a shrimp dinner with five pieces of shrimp with fries and slaw, and a combination with two pieces of fish and three pieces of shrimp with fries and slaw.

Additional side dishes are available as donated by volunteers.Desserts are available for donation (all dessert donations will be forwarded to the Auxiliary Cancer Aid & Research Fund/ National VFW). Pop is available for $1. There will be complimentary coffee and tea.

St. Barnabas Church

The Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts of Troop 575 are sponsoring and hosting this year's fish fry dinners at St. Barnabas, from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Take-out orders may be placed starting at noon each Friday at 216-990-5493 or online at http:// www.mkt.com/ 575fishfry.

Dinners include either fish, shrimp, crab cakes, pierogies, mac and cheese, or a combo meal. Dinners range in price from $6 to $10 for regular selections, or $12 or $14 for the weekly special. Extra side dishes, portions of fish, or other selections are also available.

The church is at 9451 Brandywine Road in Northfield Center.

Our Lady of Guadalupe Church

Only three fish fry dinners are being served this lenten season. The final dinner will be April 7. Take-out orders can be placed beginning at 4 p.m. by calling the parish at 330-468-2194. Pick up is from 5:15 to 7 p.m.

Dine-in is from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Adult meal options cost $8 to $11 and include cod, tilapia, shrimp, salmon, pierogies or a combination of fish and shrimp. "Young and Young at Heart" meals are $4 or $5 and include two-piece fried cod dinners, mac and cheese or pierogies are $4 or $5.

Meals come with two side dishes, a roll, salad and a drink, except pop is $1 extra.

Desserts area assorted bakery items for $1. Cash or check only. The church is at 9080 Shepard Road in Macedonia.
