Nordonia Hills Branch Library hours set

The library is open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday from noon to 6 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and closed Sundays.

Solving the Museum of Dr. Jones: An 'Escape Room' Program

Up to 10 participants per event use their puzzle-solving talents, logic, communication skills, and ingenuity to escape the four challenging rooms of the "Nordonia Museum" within a one-hour time limit. Four sessions will be offered. Registration required ticket entry only.

Crafters' Corner

Join your fellow craft enthusiasts for daylong fun. Bring your own supplies. All crafts welcome. Lots of table space to spread out. Refreshments served. Come for an hour or the entire day May 6, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Monday Casual Reads

Join us the second Monday of each month for reader-to-reader book discussions, fun, and sharing with fellow light reading lovers. We will discuss "That Darkness," by Lisa Black, on May 8 at 2 p.m.

Third- and Fourth-Grade Book Club

We will discuss the book "27 Magic Words" by Sharelle Byars Moranville on May 8 at 4 p.m. over drinks and a snack.

Stitch Clique

Grab your crocheting/knitting needles and yarn and stitch the evening away. Join us the second Tuesday of each month for crocheting/knitting tips, friendship, advice and more. Refreshments will be served May 9 from 6 to 8 p.m.

Cookies and Conversation

The second Wednesday of each month at 3:30 p.m., meet to talk about what's going on your life, school, town or the world. We'll discuss philosophy, current events or whatever is on the group's mind. And remember we have cookies -- May 10 at 3:30 p.m.

Socrates Caf

Interested in candid, thought-provoking conversation? Join your fellow patrons at the Socrates Caf, an informal adult discussion that takes place each month here at the library. The Cafe opens on May 10 at 6:30 p.m. Ages 16 and over.

Coffee & Conversation Book Discussion

Join us for some great conversation with your fellow Nordonia Hills readers the second Thursday of each month. Our next discussion is May 11 at 2 p.m. We will discuss Atlantic or Pacific, each by Simon Winchester.

Messy Mondays

Join us for messy fun! Don't forget to wear some old clothes, you may get messy. On May 15 at 6 p.m. we will make and reveal secret messages by using watercolor paints.

Get the Most Out of Your Social Security Benefits

Paul Bernier, Retirement Planning Specialist, presents a program for anyone in or nearing retirement and interested in making informed decisions about the foundation of their retirement income plan May 16 at 6:30 p.m.

Writers' Guild of Nordonia Hills

Writers wanted! New writers and old hands welcome: fiction, nonfiction, and everything in between. Have your work critiqued and give feedback to others in a fun and friendly environment. Please bring a sample of your work to share. Light snacks provided. Meets the third Wednesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. The next meeting will be on May 17.

Nordonia Hills Game Time

The library hosts a regular gaming "meet-up" each month for patrons who enjoy board games, cards, chess, role-playing, war games, and collectible card games. The next meet-up will be on May 20, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Join fellow local players Sharpen your intellect - Enjoy the social aspects of games. Refreshments are served. No registration is necessary.

Family Night

Join our program for families of all ages! One Monday a month at 6:30 p.m. we'll get together for some great crafts May 22. Do your fairies need a new home? Come in and create one any fairy would love.

Teen Mini Makerspace

For students in grade 5 and up. One Tuesday a month at 4 p.m. we will get together and create using a different medium each time. On May 23 at 4 p.m., make something with Styrofoam.

Cashing Out: Your Guide to Maximizing the Value of Your Business

This program is designed to address the unique challenges and opportunities small business owners face as they plan for retirement. Business owners within 10 years of retirement will find this program especially useful. Presented by Paul Bernier, Retirement Planning Specialist May 23 at 6:30 p.m.

After School Club

For children in K-4th grade May 24 at 4 p.m. We will make bead fireflies and dragonflies.

Adult Coloring Night

Bring your own coloring book or choose from provided coloring pages and spend the evening relaxing and coloring with new friends May 30 at 6 p.m.

College Funding Workshop

The cost of a college education has skyrocketed and, as a result, many parents feel completely overwhelmed, with little to no guidance on how they can minimize the cost of college.

College Funding Educators of America was formed to provide comprehensive education to parents so that they can maximize financial aid and understand various college funding strategies that will help reduce their family's out-of-pocket expenses May 30 at 6:30 p.m.
