Water line break shuts down Macedonia Walmart

by Jeff Saunders | reporter Published:

Macedonia -- The city's Walmart store is shut down after it began flooding early this morning, said Fire Chief Tim Black.

"They had a main water line break that put about four or five inches of water throughout the store," said Black. "They are closed and probably will remain closed for a couple of days, but that's just an estimate."

Black said the store reported the break at about 4:25 a.m. Dec. 26 and the Cleveland Division of Water was called, with the water shut off at 5:42 a.m.

Black said the cause of the break is unknown. He also said that store merchandise sustained little or no damage because most if not all of it was above the water line.
