Fire ‘under control’ in village apartment, says fire district chief

Northfield Village — Fire departments from several area communities responded to an apartment fire behind Summit Plaza, east of Route 8, this afternoon. said Northfield Center-Sagamore Hills Fire Chief Frank Risko,

Risko said the fire district received a call for mutual aid around 4 p.m. for a “fully engulfed” apartment fire, adding that it was reported over the radio about 4:20 p.m. that the fire was “under control.”

He said he believes that only one apartment was involved and that the Macedonia, Bedford and Oakwood fire departments also responded.
