Update: Valley View Road was reopened around 1:30 p.m. after being closed for about 2 1/2 hours after a construction crew building a home struck a gas line. Police say one lane of traffic was opened just after 1 p.m. and both lanes were reopened by 1:30 p.m., though traffic may need to be directed around equipment as gas company crews continue repairs.
Police now say three homes were evacuated, including three adults and seven children.
