Summit County Sheriff's Office seeking information on Northfield Center fire station vandalism

The Summit County Sheriff's Office issued the following statement this morning:

On Monday Sept. 19, the Summit County Sheriff's Office responded to the former Northfield Center/Sagamore Hills Fire District Substation located at 60 W. Aurora Road in Northfield in regards to a burglary. Responding personnel determined that someone had broken into the building over the weekend and caused several thousands of dollars in damage to the building and to equipment that was being stored inside the building. The suspects wrote profanity on equipment and other items inside the building. In addition, the suspects saturated beds, carpeting, and 14 pieces of turn-out gear with urine.

The scene was processed by the Summit County Sheriff's Crime Scene Unit.

Anyone with information regarding the identity of the person(s) responsible should contact the Summit County Sheriff's Office Detective Bureau at 330-643-2131.
