The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force announced Feb. 21 it is offering a reward for information which would lead to the capture of fugitive Raymond C. Gates.
Gates is wanted by the U.S. Marshals Service and the Summit County Sheriff’s Office on a charge of first-degree felony rape. A warrant was issued for Gates on Feb. 10.

A press release from the sheriff's office states deputies responded to a Northfield Center residence Nov. 11, 2016, in response to a report of a disoriented elderly female. The caller stated the woman was knocking on the rear door of her residence. It was further reported that the female was barefoot and unable to communicate.
Officials said the rape did not occur in the township but in Boston Heights and the woman had walked to Northfield Center.
The 65-year-old female was identified and transported to the Cleveland Clinic for medical evaluation. The female was unable to communicate with medical staff or with detectives from the Sheriff's Office.
The subsequent investigation revealed the female victim had been sexually assaulted.
