University of Findlay recognizes locals

The University of Findlay announces the following area students were awarded scholarships for the 2008-09 academic year:

Breanne Bowers, a sophomore physical therapy and equestrian studies major, has been awarded The University of Findlay's Trustee's Scholarship and GAR Foundation Scholarship for the 2007-08 academic year. Bowers, a 2006 graduate of Nordonia High School, is the daughter of Laurel Bowers of Macedonia and Allan Bowers of Sagamore Hills.

Leigh Ann Hiros, a sophomore occupational therapy major, has been awarded The University of Findlay's Trustee's Scholarship for the 2007-08 academic year. Hiros, a 2006 graduate of Nordonia High School, is the daughter of Barbara Marr, of Sagamore Hills, and Tim Hiros of Aurora.

Both Bowers and Hiros have earned 4.0 grade point averages and have been named to the dean's list for the fall semester. The following area students have also been named to the dean's list:

Northfield residents Kristina Jeffries and Kelly Kontur; Sagamore Hills resident Frank Pajek*; and Macedonia resident Allison Bowers*.

* Denotes 4.0 grade point average.

Otterbein announces dean's list

Melissa M. Mayse, daughter of Rick and Sandra Zizak of Northfield Center, was named to the dean's list at Otterbein College for the 2008 winter quarter.

Otterbein is an independent, liberal arts institution affiliated with the United Methodist Church. It is located in Westerville.
