I-271 traffic restrictions announced

The Ohio Department of Transportation has announced the southbound lanes of I-271 over the Cuyahoga River in Boston Township will have daily (intermittent) rolling road blocks for the unloading of steel bridge beams.

These rolling road blocks will occur between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. daily throughout the next few weeks and traffic will be maintained by law enforcement officers. Delays can be expected.

I-271 over the Cuyahoga River is reduced to one lane in either or both directions during off-peak hours. This work is part of a $34.7 million project to replace the I-271 twin bridges over the Cuyahoga River and the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. The entire project is scheduled to be complete by late October 2009.
