------ IRIS JEAN GLYNN ------ Formerly owned Widows Two Tavern Funeral services were June 5 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church for Macedonia resident Iris Jean Glynn. Mrs. Glynn, 82, died May 31, 2008, at Hillcrest Hospital. Mrs. Glynn was born April 26, 1926 in England. She was the owner of Widow's Two Tavern in Oakwood Village. She and her sister-in-law opened the business in 1972 after both of their husbands died. Mrs. Glynn later took sole ownership of the business and operated it as a sole proprietor for 30 years, raising her three daughters on the income. The tavern served traditional fare such as hamburgers and chili, hosted dart and bowling leagues, sponsored baseball teams and had clientele from throughout the area. She retired in 1997 and the business closed. She was very active at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church and loved to read, visiting the Twinsburg and Nordonia Hills libraries twice a week. She drove her white Ford Escort up until the day before she passed away. Mrs. Glynn was the wife of Thomas, deceased, and the mother of Cheryl (Ronald) Sebastian, Jane Cook, and Michele (Tim) Nichols. She had 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Burial was at Calvary Cemetery in Cleveland, where her husband is buried. Ferfolia Funeral Home handled arrangements. Comments
