Faith Fellowship hosting program on family Faith Fellowship Church in Macedonia will host Dr. Michael Mahoney June 30 from 7 to 9 p.m. Mahoney will give a presentation titled, "Healing difficult situations through the gift of family." Mahoney is the founder of Gates Ministry and is an ordained member of the clergy serving in full-time vocational ministry since 1988. He earned his doctorate in formational counseling at Ashland Theological Seminary and has extensive training and experience in formational and pastoral counseling. He is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors and is recognized as a Minister-at-Large and Chaplain with the Dansville Area Ministerial Association. Mahoney specializes in the area of personal and interpersonal healing, pastoral strategy, conflict resolution, transitions, and spiritual and emotional intelligence. In addition to the Doctor of Ministry, Michael holds degrees from St. Bernard's Institute (Master of Divinity), Cornell University (Master of Arts in the Philosophy of Religion), the Naval War College (Master of Arts in Strategic Studies) and Benedictine College (Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Religious Studies). Liberty Valley hosting special program Liberty Valley Church will be hosting "Mom to Mom," a six-week, practical help guide to biblical parenting based on the book "Shepherding a Child's Heart," by Tedd Tripp. Meetings will be at the church located at 7772 Capital Blvd. on Mondays at 10 a.m. through July 14. Reformers Unanimous, a national Christ-centered addiction program headquartered in Rockford, Ill, has started a chapter in Northfield. The program meets every Friday night at the New Testament Baptist Church from 7 to 9 p.m. The program is open to all adults who struggle with an addiction or a "stubborn habit." Marriage encounter weekend planned A summer break for married couples is planned for July 11 to 13 at the Quality Inn in Akron by Worldwide Marriage Encounter. This weekend experience is for couples with good marriages, who would like to learn an exciting and effective method of communication. This method will afford each couple the chance to renew the romance in their marriage and create the intimacy they long for. Gospel House hosting vacation Bible school The Gospel House Church and Evangelistic Center presents the 2008 vacation Bible school, themed on an adventure park, "A thrilling ride with Jesus." Westminster Church hosting Bible school Westminster Presbyterian Church of Brecksville is hosting Vacation Bible School beginning July 28. The theme is "Olympion: The story of Joshua." Sessions will run from 9 to 11:30 a.m. from July 28 to Aug. 1 at St. Matthew's Church, 9549 Highland Drive in Brecksville. Children who have finished pre-kindergarten through sixth grade are invited to attend free of charge. Parents should call VBS director the Rev.
