Services were June 17 at Johnson-Romito Funeral Home for Robert William Farrington. The Rev. Don Barth Jr., from Broadview Heights Baptist Church, officiated.
Mr. Farrington, 85, died June 13, 2008, at Marymount Hospital in Garfield Heights. He was a resident of Northfield for more than 42 years.
Mr. Farrington was born in Bedford on May 27, 1923, to William E. Farrington and Florence M. Smith Farrington.
He was a graduate of the Bedford High School Class of 1941 and retired in 1985 after working in credit management for Alsco Building Products in Akron.
Mr. Farrington served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He enjoyed computers and music and enjoyed leading singing during church services.
Mr. Farrington was the husband of Virginia M. Farrington, nee Gilstrap, and the father of Marilyn (Nelson) Roder of Bolivar, and Richard Paul (Sandy) Farrington of Houston.
Mr. Farrington was the grandfather of Jennifer and Brad David Farrington and Kelly and Hayley Roder and the great-grandfather of two.
Burial was at Crown Hill Memorial Park in Twinsburg.
