Red Hatters invited
to Northfield Park

The Sassy Classies group of the Red Hatters society extend an open invitation to all red hatters to meet for an evening at Northfield Park July 30. The event will start at 5 p.m. Racing begins at 7 p.m. The cost is $19 per person (tax and tip included) and includes a buffet dinner, admission, parking, a racing program and vendor shopping. Stop 35 reunion planned

The Northfield Stop 35 Reunion will meet Aug. 9 at Longwood Park in Macedonia, shelter No. 1. The reunion begins at 1 p.m. and costs $5 per person.

Everyone should bring their own picnic lunch, as sweet corn, beverages and cake will be furnished. Residents of all local communities are invited. This is a once-per-year gathering of friends. AARP to visit Amish country

The Nordonia Hills Chapter 5330 of the American Association of Retired Persons will travel to Holmes County Sept. 25 to visit the big Amish flea market there. Lunch will include a home-cooked meal.

The tour will also visit Rolling Ridge Ranch, home to more than 500 animals and birds from around the world.

Transportation, lunch, all admissions fees, professional guides, snacks, taxes and tips are included for $62. For more information, call Jan at 440-439-1573.

Crafters sought for harvest fest

The Longwood Manor Historical Society is hosting an art and craft show Oct. 11 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Epiphany Lutheran Church, 10503 Valley View Road in Northfield Center. There is still room for more crafters to exhibit. The cost of a booth is $40. Proceeds go to the Longwood Manor Historical Society, an incorporated, non-profit organization working to preserve the history of Macedonia. The church will be providing food for a minimal fee.
