Runners Club
meets Thursdays

The YMCA Runner's Club meets every Thursday at 6:15 p.m., so if you are looking for some extra motivation to run this summer, join the YMCA Runner's Club for a stretch and run. There is no need to sign up -- just show up. Or better yet, run up.

Child care programs available

YMCA School Age Child Care -- it is time to start planning for the upcoming school year. Where will your child be during those hours before and after school? Trust the YMCA to provide age-appropriate curriculum to enhance and help support children grow physically, mentally, and spiritually. YMCA School Age Child Care teaches values and Character development is a major focus in all YMCA school-age child care programs, emphasizing the five core YMCA values: Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility and Faith.

Hours are Monday through Friday, before care is from 6:30 to 9 a.m.. After Care is from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Children are transported by Nordonia Hills School District if they attend Ledgeview Elementary. Children attending Rushwood, Northfield, Lee Eaton and Nordonia Hills Middle School will all be transported by the Nordonia Hills YMCA bus. Carnival in the Woods
is Aug. 9

Join the YMCA on our beautiful 30-acre wood located on the corner of Shepard Road and Route 82 Aug. 9 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for a fun-filled carnival for all ages to enjoy. The event will feature Papa John's pizza, popcorn and cotton candy. Attractions include carnival games and prizes, such as an egg toss, a watermelon spitting contest, face painting, a tug of war and much more.

There will be a Kiddie Korner for children ages newborn to age 4. Admission is free. There will be coupons for Free Rosati's frozen custard to the first 50 kids.

The Panini's Parent-Child Cornhole Tournament will begin at noon. The entry fee is $5 per team. Winners will get prizes donated by Panini's. Teams must consist of one parent or grandparent and one child under the age of 18. Sign up by 11:45 a.m. Aug. 9.
