by Emily Canning-Dean Reporter Summit County -- Voters have given Sherri Bevan Walsh another four years as Summit County Prosecutor. According to final, but unofficial results from the Summit County Board of Elections, Walsh defeated opponent Nancy Mercurio Morrison, 168,762 (69.2 percent) to 75,138 (30.8 percent). "I am proud to see that the voters of Summit County have once again entrusted me to continue doing the job I am doing," Walsh said. "The great work of every single person in my office -- from doing a good job with our heavy case load, to protecting crime victims, to being a positive part of our community -- made all the difference in this election. "We will continue that hard work on behalf of the citizens of Summit County as we all work to keep Summit County a safe and wonderful place to live." Morrison, of Akron, did not return calls seeking comment. Walsh, a Democrat who lives in Hudson, has been prosecutor since January 2001. She graduated from Capital University Law School in 1985. For 10 years, she worked in private practice and also has served as a court magistrate for the villages of Northfield, Boston Heights and Peninsula.
