Chamber Chatter: Businesses can learn 'Social Media 101' July 16

Businesses are hearing more and more every day about Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Plaxo and other social media sites. But this brings questions: Should my business be on these social media sites? If so, which ones? If so, what do I post? Should I be doing more with my Web site? Should I have a blog? How much will this all cost and how does this affect my bottom line?

Social Media 101 for Business, presented by SpiderCat Marketing, will answer these questions and more. Plan to attend on July 16 from 8 to 9:30 a.m. at Gambitta's Party Center, 160 E. Aurora Road in Northfield Center, to find out what the buzz is all about and how your business can benefit. Admission is $25 and includes a continental breakfast, coffee and tea. Chamber 101 is scheduled for July 23 at 8 to 9 a.m. at Reinecker's Bakery and Party Center on South Freeway Drive in Macedonia. There is no charge for this event because it is graciously sponsored by our hosts. Reservations are now being accepted at the Chamber office -- 330-467-8956.

It's time for the 14th annual Nordonia Hills Chamber Links Golf Open on Aug. 27 at the Country Club of Hudson.

Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. with a shot gun start at 10 a.m. Sign up to play 18 holes or come out for dinner and our infamous Chinese auction.

Promote your business by donating an auction gift or sponsoring a hole and let us give you free advertising. It's all about our members and getting your name out.

Panera Bread is sponsoring a continental breakfast. Steve's TV has donated a 50-inch flat screen Panasonic HDTV so don't forget to buy your tickets from a committee member or at the Chamber office.

Golfers come from all over the area to play on Hudson's course.
