by Laura Sparano, Chamber executive director

It's time again to show the love. Reserve Dec. 1 for the Nordonia Hills Chamber of Commerce's annual Networking Party and Auction. This year, the fun will be from 5 to 8 p.m. at Gambitta's Party Center in Northfield Center. Admission is $5 plus 5 non-perishable foods. First Merit Bank is sponsoring the bar. Our DJ will be Jim Daniels from Graphic Traffic. Proceeds will benefit the Emergency Assistance Center. Auction items are now being collected in the Chamber office. Please call our committee chair Cindi Seese of Third Federal Savings at 330-963-3130 regarding sponsorships of $25 to $500 or auctions donations. For more information on this event, please go to www.nordoniahillschamber.org/activities/holiday_party.htm.>

I know the economy is bad, but this is the time to open your hearts to others whose need is greater. The Chamber holiday party supports the Emergency Assistance Center that feeds hungry people right here in Nordonia Hills. Just a small sponsorship gives you recognition on our Web site, the local newspaper and on the weekly e-mail sent to over 250 addresses. Your raffle prize donation enables us to raise funds to give some of those deserving families a little bit of Christmas fun. Please plan to attend our holiday party and bring your co-workers. By working together, our struggles will be easier.

From shoes to ceiling fans, floral bouquets to SUV's, Nordonia Hills stores have just about anything you can buy out of town, at a competitive price. Our local merchants provide reliable products and good service and they know their customers. They also employ your friends, neighbors and kids, plus pay the local taxes that pave our streets and finance our schools. On top of this, they donate their time, talents and money for many community causes. So before you spend your money out of town, do your homework and check locally first. You'll save a trip, find a bargain and boost our home economy. Shop Nordonia Hills first during this holiday season and throughout the coming year.
