I know it's early, but as you plan your New Year's resolutions, include training for the 17th Annual Nordonia Hills Duathlon. You might want to put a tread mill or bike on your holiday wish list.

As always, this annual bike and run event will be the first weekend of June: June 5, 2010. Make sure you schedule that on your new 2010 calendar.

Not finished with holiday shopping? Do you need something special and unique? Don't forget your ABC's -- Always Buy Chamber.

Several of our local businesses have joined the Chamber just in time for this gift-giving season.

Visit Italia Olde World Market at 62 Leonard Ave. in Northfield Center, across from Nordonia Middle School. Owner Rochelle Budroe will help you "build your own" gift basket with one of a kind gifts from around the world.

While you're there, check out the Italian grocery store and plan your holiday catering. Pizza, sandwiches, soup, cannoli and a variety of specials are prepared daily for take-out. Gift certificates are also available. The market is open Monday through Saturday.

Judy Hamilton is an independent sales director for Mary Kay and carries a complete line of skin care and cosmetic products to help you make your "outside as beautiful as your inside."

She does individual makeovers and group classes in skin care, color and nail/body care. Judy also offers beautifully packaged gifts for special occasions and hosts open houses during the holiday season. For the latest products, contact Judy at judyham@marykay.com.

Our newest Mexican restaurant is now open. Dos Coronas opened this week in the former Macedonia Denny's at the corner of Highland Road and Route 8. Be sure to stop in, enjoy a great meal and purchase gift certificates for holiday giving. Catering is also available.

Also a new member -- and open for holiday dining -- is L&L Spaghetti House, across from LaQuinta Inn on Highland Road. You may have driven right by and not realized that the marinara sauce is divine. Portions are huge and you won't feel guilty bringing your leftovers home. The "back" room is also perfect for lunch and dinner meetings.

Stop by and say "hello" to owner Linda St. John.
