Faith Fellowship hosting birthday party for Jesus Faith Fellowship Church, located at 10277 Valley View Road in Macedonia, will host a Birthday Party for Jesus on Dec. 19 from 2 to 4 p.m. The event is open to children ages 4 years through sixth grade. Activities will include games, a Christmas story recreation, cookie frosting, card making, gift wrapping and of course, birthday cake. Children are encouraged to bring a small gift costing $1 or less to be donated to the Akron Children's Hospital Treasure Box on the hematology floor. Register by calling the church office at 330-467-1234. Methodist Church presents The Rev. John Ferris will bring Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" to life, using Dickens' own edited script, memorized, as the final performance in the Sanctuary Festival Series at the United Methodist Church of Macedonia on Dec. 20 at 3 p.m. Marley's chains rattle through the crisp December night and the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future roam. The story was written in 1844, and published first in a newspaper/magazine format. It became so popular that the author edited the story and went on tour, giving readings. The presentation is free, there is plenty of parking and light refreshments will be served. For further information, call the church office at 330-467-3169. Presbyterian Church to host Northfield Presbyterian Church invites area residents to a spirit-filled evening centered on Christ's birth on Christmas Eve. There will be a 6 p.m. family candlelight service and a 9 p.m. candlelight communion service. Church gives families sanctuary The members of the Sanctuary of Praise at 8788 Hadden Road have adopted two young families residing in the community for "Operation Bless A Family." To celebrate the spirit of giving and sharing, the families will be presented with a holiday food basket, gifts and toys selected from the families' wish list and purchased by members of the congregation. The families will receive their gifts Dec. 20 during the noon Christmas program. The Christmas drama presentation is called "The Great Light" and all are welcome. Comments
