Chamber Chatter: Chamber of Commerce hosts area business grand opening, 'connected' eventsJanuary 20, 2010
by Laura Sparano, Chamber Executive Director If you're curious about new Chamber member Jewelry & Gold Exchange, their grand opening and ribbon cutting at 10 a.m. on Jan. 20 is the perfect opportunity to learn more about the process of exchanging gold for cash. The new store, run by Sal Vecchio, is located at 10495 Northfield Road in Northfield Village. Join us to celebrate their opening. Stop in for some coffee and donuts and welcome one of our newest business members. * * * It's easy for business people to "Get Connected" at Dos Coronas Mexican Restaurant, 269 E. Highland Road in Macedonia. On Jan. 28 from 6 to 8 p.m., area business people are invited to join new and existing Chamber members for an event designed to showcase our new members and acquaint others with all the benefits and savings of membership. New members (since July 2009) will have a display table and three minutes to present their products and/or services. Everyone will have the opportunity to expand their list of contacts through one-on-one conversations and even win a prize. Admission is $10; new members will also have a display table at their disposal. Refreshments and soft drinks are included. A cash bar is available. Any business contemplating joining this Chamber is strongly encouraged to attend -- we'll make it worth your time. Special discounts will be offered to new memberships that night. Please call the Chamber Office at 330-467-8956 to RSVP. * * * Are you ready to "Discover Nordonia Hills?" That's the theme for the 18th annual Community Expo. This year's expo is all about promoting the local products, services and resources. Are you looking for more exposure for your business? You can find more information or register now at www.nordoniahillschamber.org. This is your chance to save some money on your booth registration. If you register before Feb. 1, you can take advantage of our early bird discount. We are also offering discounts on Chamber membership if you join while registering for the expo. The 2010 Community Expo is sponsored in part by University Hospitals Bedford Medical Center, in partnership with Nordonia Hills City Schools, and co-promoted by the News Leader. This is an event you don't want to miss. * * * The Nordonia Hills Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce a guest speaker for the Feb. 3 meeting of the Business Support Group who will share with everyone in attendance a closely guarded, but simple, easy-to-use method for improving sales and business results. The speaker will be Jeffrey R. Pollock, sales coach and author of the online sales tips site www.helpyoursales.com. He will lead a discussion titled "Discovering what motivates people to buy." You won't hear this anywhere else and you are not likely to encounter another compliance professional in this region who coaches these techniques. They are in short supply and those who receive them gain a distinct competitive edge. This meeting of the Business Support Group is sponsored by La Quinta Inn and will take place on Feb. 3 at 8 a.m. at Elmcroft of Sagamore Hills. To RSVP, please call the Chamber office at 330-467-8956. * * * Let Akland Printing be the one source for all your graphic communication needs.
