Northfield Park has named Bay Village resident Jack G. Streza director of safety and security. Streza, 53, replaces Elmer Moody, who died in 2009 after 39 years at the race track, the last 23 of which he spent as head of security. Streza, a graduate of Cleveland's West Technical High School, earned an associate degree at Cuyahoga Community College and attended Cleveland State University, where he majored in communications. A retired member of the Cleveland Police Department, Streza served with the uniform, detective, motorcycle and financial crimes units, worked undercover with federal task forces and was selected to perform escort protection duties for Presidents Carter, Reagan, Bush Sr., Clinton and other dignitaries. Streza remains a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and the Cleveland Police Patrolman's Association. Since his retirement, Streza worked as a sales manager in the telecommunications industry and continued to work in the security and private investigation fields, including a stint handling security details in Ohio for Playboy International. For the past year and a half, Streza worked part-time in Northfield Park's Security Department, performing special assignments for his predecessor. Streza enjoys motorcycling, fishing and traveling. Streza's daughters, Heather, 21, and Marlowe, 19, are students at Case Western University and CSU, respectively. Comments
