More than 150,000 troops are serving overseas and are away from their families. No Time Cleaning Services is organizing a local collection to support Cell Phones for Soldiers, which hopes to collect 50,000 cell phones this year to help keep troops connected with their families. Residents can support the collection drive by donating their used/unused phones at the following locations: • Nordonia Hills Chamber of Commerce, 9880 Freeway Drive in Macedonia; • Herchick’s Tire Service, 854 E. Aurora Road in Macedonia; • Pat Dee’s Pub & Eatery, 9254 Olde Eight Road in Northfield Village; and • The Macedonia Family Recreation Center, 1494 E. Aurora Road in Macedonia. “We’re proud to show our support for U.S. soldiers, and to contribute to a worthy cause like Cell Phones for Soldiers,” said Rhonda Solomon, an Army veteran and owner of No Time Cleaning. “Last year we collected almost 500 phones from community members and businesses. We hope to meet and beat that number this year.” Cell Phones for Soldiers was founded by Massachusets teenagers Robbie and Brittany Bergquist. The donated phones are sent to ReCellular, which pays Cell Phones for Soldiers for each phone — enough to provide an hour of phone time to soldiers abroad.
