National Day of Prayer task force meets Feb. 9

The National Day of Prayer Summit County Task Force is having a Breakfast and Informational Meeting Feb. 9 at Silver Lake Country Club, 1325 Graham Road.

Doors open at 7:45 a.m. and the meeting will take place from 8 to 10 a.m.

Cost: donation. Anyone interested in finding out more about the National Day of Prayer is invited to attend. Attendees must be 18 and over.

Play tells story of Ruth

The traveling theater company, 34west, will present a refreshing look at a young woman's search for love and redemption. "My Name is Ruth," is a romantic-comedy based on the Old Testament story of Ruth. Set in the 1950's, a young Minnesota widow moves to the big city. When Ruth and her aging mother-in-law quickly fall into desperate straits they need the help of a bashful businessman in order to survive. The play will be presented Feb. 14 at 6 p.m. at Faith Fellowship Church, 10277 Valley View Road in Macedonia. There is no admission charge, but a free-will offering will be received at the conclusion of the performance.

'Getting Marriage Right'

Pastor Joe Propri of the Biblical Counseling Institute will teaching "Getting Marriage Right: Enjoying the Gift of Intimacy" Feb. 20 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The class meets at the Destiny Ministry Center, 9241 Ravenna Road, C-8, in Twinsburg.

Cost for the afternoon class is $45 per person; $80 or $35 per person for a married couple; $60 for a married couple if registration is paid two weeks in advance.

Financial
workshop offered

The United Methodist Church of Macedonia is offering a biblically based financial training course by Dave Ramsey. The classes will be at the church, 1280 East Aurora Road in Macedonia.

Free previews are scheduled on Feb. 28 at 9:45 a.m. and noon and March 1 at 7 p.m. Classes start March 18 from 7 to 9 p.m. and will run for 13 weeks.

Women 'reflect' at Ss. Cosmas and Damian

All women are invited to attend the Women's Day of Reflection Feb. 20 in Twinhaven at Ss. Cosmas and Damian from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The theme this year is "All That I Am ... " Share a day of fellowship and inspiration as the Lenten season arrives. Featured speaker will be "Tacji." She will share her life's story on how she turned her life over to God by spreading His love through her gift of music and song.
