Loved sports
A March 3 Mass of Christian burial is planned at St. Barnabas Church at 10 a.m., with prayers at Johnson-Romito Funeral Home at 9:30 a.m., for Lois J Misciagna, nee Chidsey. Mrs. Misciagna, 76, died Feb. 27, 2010, in Columbus.
Mrs. Misciagna was born to Truman and Dorothy Chidsey, both deceased, on Jan. 2, 1934, in Medina County. She graduated from Brunswick High School where she enjoyed cheerleading, sports and played flute in the band.
She was employed at the Cadillac Tank Plant where she met her beloved husband John Misciagna. Mrs. Misciagna was a stay-at-home mom until her children were grown, and then she went to work for many years at several local grocery stores and bakeries, including Stan's Bakery and Giant Eagle. She enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren play sports and was an avid Cleveland Indians, Cavaliers and Browns fan. She enjoyed playing pinochle and belonged to a card club for many years. She recently joined the Lois Club, a group of women all with the name Lois, for monthly meetings. Her tremendous sense of humor will be remembered fondly. She was an active member of St. Barnabas Church for many years.
Mrs. Misciagna was the loving mother of Michael (Pam) of Northfield, John of Northfield, Mary (Karen) of Charlotte, N.C. and Susan of Columbus; mother-in-law of Janit Misciagna, deceased; grandmother of Theresa, Tony, Stephanie and Timothy and great-grandmother of Bianca, Angelina, Colin and Katie; sister of David Chidsey, deceased, and Faye (Allen) McClellan; sister-in-law of Rita Chidsey; and niece of Myron (Irene) Voorhees
Burial is to be at All Saints Cemetery.
The family suggests contributions be made to St. Barnabas Church, 9451 Brandywine Road, Northfield Center, Ohio 44067.
