Financial workshop starts tomorrow The United Methodist Church of Macedonia is offering a biblically based financial training course by Dave Ramsey. The classes will be at the church, 1280 East Aurora Road in Macedonia. Classes start March 18 from 7 to 9 p.m. and will run for 13 weeks. The facilitator of the course will be David Komer. Women's retreat set for March 20 Area women are invited to attend the annual Women's Mini-Retreat in Bedell Commons at St. Barnabas Church March 20 from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The cost is $15. Karen Patena, a spiritual and retreat director and certified lay ecclesial minister, will be the presenter. The purpose of the event is to help participants live life fully as God's beloved daughter and to come to know deeply the Father who claims them as His own. Dinner concert features Southern gospel style The Macedonia Church of the Nazarene is hosting a free community Italian dinner and concert featuring singer Jonathan White on March 21. Dinner will be served at 4:30 p.m. and the concert will follow at 5:30 p.m. White is a Southern gospel soloist who travels the country and ministers to the hurting and lost. Besides many concerts in local churches, he has performed at Gaither Homecoming Concerts, at the Grand Ole Opry, and his recordings get a lot of air time on Southern gospel radio stations. Based out of Canton, White just released his latest CD, Living the Good Life. Creationism is topic of Answers in Genesis, which operates the Creation Museum in Petersburg Ky., is presenting "Not Ashamed," with James Gardner, at Northfield Baptist Church March 20 and 21. This two-day conference includes five sessions with topics covering aliens, dinosaurs, and "The Mystery of Ancient Man." Gardner will bring the message of biblical authority, as well as creation-apologetics materials and educational resources. Benefit for Haiti planned Faith Fellowship Church, under the direction of its Outreach Coordinator Lori Stubbs, has organized "Help Hold Up Haiti," a drive to collect crutches and walkers for the innumerable amputees in Haiti. The church is at 10277 Valley View Road, east of Route 8, in Macedonia. The Rev. Kathie Kuhn, associate pastor and director of Outreach Ministries at the church, said cooperating businesses include Peppers Market, Nordonia High School, Nordonia Hills YMCA and Macedonia Chick-fil-A. Drop-off boxes have been placed at all five locations. Free coupons for Chick-Fil-A sandwiches are being handed out at all locations. The drive will run through Easter Sunday, April 4, at which time the items will be taken to Med Wish International and transported to Haiti. Comments
