Macedonia -- The owner of a Valley View Road business reported May 19 that someone broke into a storage trailer in his parking lot in the previous two days and took more than $7,000 worth of tools. According to a police report, the hasps on the trailer's back door were apparently cut off. Missing tools included cement and concrete equipment, drills, and saws with diamond blades. Police say they are investigating. Theft May 23. Handicap parking sign stolen: An employee of a Route 82 business reported someone took a handicap parking sign off its post in front of the business during the previous week. May 16. Motorcycle reported stolen: A Meadowlawn Drive man reported someone took his 1999 motorcycle from his driveway during the night. Open container May 22. Police see glass of beer: Police cited a Shepard Road man with having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle after they saw a full glass of beer on the floor between the man's feet in a vehicle the man was a passenger in. Police said they stopped the vehicle after they saw it following another vehicle too closely on Ledge Road about 1:30 a.m. Police said they did not cite the driver. Property damage May 21. Police discover smashed car windows: A city police officer reported that while on patrol about 8 p.m., he saw a car in the parking lot of a Highland Road business with its windows smashed. Police said the car belonged to the business owner and they believe a concrete block found on the ground near the car was used to break the windows. May 16. Racial graffiti found on vehicle: A Red Bush Lane woman reported someone painted graffiti on the rear window of her sport utility vehicle while it was in her driveway in the evening. Police said they questioned neighbors, but no one reported seeing anything. May 15. Car drives across lawns: A North Bedford Road man reported someone drove a car across his front yard during the night, leaving tracks, and police said they found similar tracks across the front yards of three homes on the opposite side of the street. The man said he discovered the damage after he heard a loud noise outside his home at about 2:30 a.m., looked out a window and saw a car with sparks coming from its rear drive across his driveway.
