Macedonia Methodists hosting concert

The United Methodist Church of Macedonia will welcome the University Heights Symphonic Band, as a part of the Sanctuary Festival Series June 17.

The University Heights Symphonic Band is a group of about 50 volunteer musicians. Two of them, Debbie Hassing and Margaret Berman, are members of the Macedonia United Methodist Church. Debbie has played with the group for a year and describes them as "an excellent performing band."

The program will have a variety of music, including a "Salute to our Armed Forces," and a popular Hollywood medley.

The band will be playing in the sanctuary at 7:30 p.m., and refreshments will be served after the concert in the Holbrook Room.

They are free, as is the concert, and a goodwill offering will be taken.

Those attending can enter on either the east or west door in the new part of the building. The church is at 1280 East Aurora Road in Macedonia. For further information, call the church office at 330-467-3169.
