Macedonia -- A 13-year-old city boy was charged with unruliness June 25 after four motorists reported their vehicles were struck by a BB, leaving a dent and chipped paint, while they were driving on Twinsburg Road. According to police reports, the incidents took place between 5 and 6 a.m. A city police officer said that while patrolling the area about 6:40 a.m., he saw the boy standing in a driveway. The boy told the officer that he had a BB gun and after the officer asked the boy's mother to come outside, the boy admitted to shooting the cars, police say. Police said the boy was released to his mother pending notification of a Summit County Juvenile Court date. Criminal mischief June 30. Man reports pranks: A Bull Creek Lane man reported that throughout June, someone committed multiple pranks, including throwing eggs at his home, leaving dog feces on his front porch and an egg and burrito in his mailbox, and ringing his doorbell in the middle of the night. The man said he did not know who might have been doing it. Theft June 25. Game systems stolen: An employee of a Macedonia Commons Boulevard store reported someone took two video game systems, totaling $298 in value, from the store. The employee said video security footage showed a man putting the systems into a shopping cart on June 22, then pushing the cart out of the store without paying for them. Police said they are investigating. June 28. Fake checks passed: An employee of a Macedonia Commons Boulevard store reported that someone cashed three fake payroll checks totaling $2,663 in the previous few weeks. The employee said the transactions included $1,987 in cash and $676 in miscellaneous merchandise. Police said the checks had the name of different businesses on them, but the routing number on all three checks was identical. From video security footage, police say they are sure it's the same person in two cases, but they are unsure of the third. Police said they were investigating. -- Northfield Center -- Property damage July 1. Door screens cut: A Spring Creek Road woman reported someone cut the screens on her home's front and rear doors since the day before. Police said the home was not entered. Theft July 1. GPS device stolen: A Ravenna man reported someone broke into his locked pickup truck and took a $200 global positioning system device while the truck was in the parking lot of an Olde Eight Road business during the night. Police said it appeared someone first tried to pry the driver's door open, damaging the door and frame, before smashing the window. The Summit County Sheriff's Office says it is investigating. Disorderly conduct June 30. Man screams at deputy: A 50-year-old Kitner Boulevard man pleaded not guilty to disorderly conduct after a Summit County Sheriff's deputy reported seeing the man stumbling as he walked along the side of Olde Eight Road near Kitner at a little before 1 a.m. According to a police report, when the deputy stopped to talk to the man, the man made a "rude gesture" and screamed obscenities at him.
