The Friends of Akron Children's Hospital, a dedicated fundraising group, is hosting its 49th annual Harness Race Rally at 7 p.m. Aug. 13 at Northfield Park to raise money for the hospital's Haslinger Family Pediatric Palliative Care Center.
As part of the event, the Friends of Akron Children's is selling raffle tickets. Tickets are $1 each or $5 for six.
This year's prizes include:
* First prize -- 2010 Chevy Cobalt from Van Devere Chevrolet
* Second prize -- Pearl/Diamond bracelet donated by Medina Gem Co.
* Third prize -- Diamond pendant donated by Sterling Jewelers Inc.
* Fourth prize -- Jukebox donated by Bell Music Co.
* Fifth prize -- Overnight package donated by Sheraton Suites, Cuyahoga Falls.
Tickets may be purchased by calling the Akron Children's Hospital Foundation at 330-543-8340 or Akron Children's Volunteer office at 330-543-8424.
Northfield Park is at 10705 Northfield Road in Northfield Village.

The Haslinger Family Pediatric Palliative Care Center at Akron Children's Hospital provides care for infants, children, adolescents and young adults with complex, chronic or life threatening conditions and their families. Funds will be used to assist children and their families by relieving extreme financial stress, particularly for utilities, groceries and other expenses. The Friends have raised more than $3 million for Akron Children's Hospital through the Harness Race Rally event during the past 49 years.
