Macedonia -- A Bedford Heights woman turned herself in to police Aug. 3 after her manager at a Highland Road service station alleged July 20 she took $560 in scratch-off lottery tickets without paying for them.

According to Stow Municipal Court records, the 22-year-old woman did not enter a plea to fifth-degree felony theft at her Aug. 3 arraignment and she was released on a personal bond.

Police said store security video allegedly showed the woman behind the register scratching off tickets during her July 18 and 19 shifts.

The manager said that when the woman discovered July 20 that he was investigating the missing tickets, she left work and he was unable to reach her by phone.

Police said they asked Bedford Heights police several days later to go to the woman's home and ask her to call them. The woman then agreed to turn herself in, according to the report.
