The Northfield Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6768 Ladies Auxiliary is hosting a fundraiser on Aug. 28 at the Post, 8584 Olde Eight Road in Northfield Center.
The event will be a steak dinner and reverse raffle with the chance to win $1,000.
All proceeds will be awarded to Military Services.
Military Services promotes involvement with the local military community by providing grants for VFW posts, districts and departments to give farewell and welcome home parties, Adopt-A-Unit and Family Readiness Activities. It also supports Operation Uplink, which provides phone cards for troops and hospitalized veterans, as well as Unmet Needs -- a program that provides grants of up to $2,500 to eligible service members and their families facing a hardship due to deployment or military service.
The dinner ticket is $20 and will include an 8-ounce strip steak, baked potato, salad, rolls/butter and dessert. There will also be a cash bar.
The raffle winner need not be present to collect the prize.
