Ohio University recognizes students
The following area students were awarded degrees from Ohio University at the school's spring commencement.
Jonathan Miller, of Macedonia, earned a bachelor of arts degree in political science.
Jillian Grenig, of Macedonia, earned a bachelor of science degree in education, focusing on moderate-intensive educational needs.
Alex Bokovitz, of Sagamore Hills, earned bachelor of arts degrees in political science and economics.
Joseph Lippitt, of Sagamore Hills, earned a bachelor of science degree in education, focusing on integrated language arts.
Mark Barath, of Sagamore Hills, earned a bachelor of business administration degree in accounting.

The following area students were named to the dean's list for the spring semester: Macedonia residents Kaylee Wlosowicz and Danielle Hendricks and Sagamore Hills residents Eric Hartman, Mary Siegel, and Joseph Hronek.
DeFrench earns degree at Ohio Northern
Ohio Northern University announces that Northfield Village resident Kaitlyn E DeFrench graduated with distinction with a bachelor of music degree with a major in music education.
Ashland announces spring dean's list
The following area residents have been named to the dean's list for the spring semester at Ashland University:
Sagamore Hills resident Mary Demerest, daughter of Marcia and Walter Demerest. She is majoring in finance.
Macedonia resident Michael Flerchinger, the son of Robert and Elizabeth Flerchinger. He is majoring in integrated social studies.
Northfield Center resident Brittany Johnson, daughter of Edward Johnson and Denise Russo. She is majoring in intervention specialist education.
Macedonia resident Emily Williams, daughter of Charles and Kathleen Williams. She is majoring in integrated language arts education.
