Watch games The following Nordonia games are scheduled to be broadcast on Cable 9 Television: Football: Maple Heights at Nordonia, Aug. 27; Nordonia at Twinsburg, Sept. 3; North Royalton at Nordonia, Sept. 17; and Medina at Nordonia, Oct. 8 Boys soccer: Twinsburg at Nordonia, Sept. 1 Volleyball: North Royalton at Nordonia, Sept. 28 Girls soccer: Twinsburg at Nordonia, Oct. 11 Youth hockey program seeks players Nordonia High School head hockey coach Joe Kramp is looking for individuals interested in playing youth hockey this fall as part of the Garfield Heights MUNY Hockey Program. There are two programs: an in-house program for the beginner and also a traveling program. Activities offered in The City of Garfield Heights is scheduled to offer figure-skating lessons and a hockey program from September through April. The Learn to Skate program is set to begin Sept. 29th from 6 to 7 p.m. and is an eight-week session. The total cost for residents is $42 (which includes $10 for an identification card) and $107 ($35 for an ID card). All fees include rental skates if needed. The first 10 week In-House Hockey Session is scheduled to begin Oct. 2 and conclude Dec. 18. This program is limited to 60 participants. Players need to bring skates and a stick. The total cost for residents are $40 and $70. The Fall Coed Soccer Program is set to begin in mid-September. Registration is scheduled to run through Sept. 11. The age requirements are 6-15 years of age on or before Nov. 1, 2010. Games are scheduled to be played twice a week in the evenings and on Saturdays. The soccer season concludes at the end of October. A copy of a birth certificate is required for all new players at registration time. The total cost for residents is $40 and $60 for nonresidents. Longhorns seek players The Ohio Longhorns baseball program is looking for athletes ages 15 to 18 who want to compete at the highest level of baseball. The objectives of the Ohio Longhorns are to teach positive values to the players, with a great deal of emphasis on discipline, hustle, attitude and teamwork. The team accelerates player development and increases exposure to next level opportunities by providing first-rate coaching, strong competition and a dedication for success. Soccer offered The Suburban Soccer Academy, located at the NC Soccer Club in Hudson (5661 Stow Rd.), is looking for players ages 4 to 14. The 2010 fall outdoor session is scheduled to take place Saturdays from Sept. 11 through Oct. 23. The registration deadline is set for Aug. 28. Registration forms can be found on www.suburbansocceracademy.org. The cost is $85 per session and training is scheduled for 11 a.m. and games are set to take place at noon during the fall. SSA also is sponsored by HandOnSoccer and Otto Orf (former professional player in Cleveland). HandsOnSoccer will conduct all of our camps and clinics.
