Letter: Supports 'investment' in education

As an educator who also has family with children who will be attending Nordonia Hills City Schools, I believe investing in today and tomorrow is important.

Even in these difficult economic times, it is still possible to make a solid investment. This is an investment that will benefit us now and in our future.

No one wants to spend their money on things that don’t demonstrate rewards. By investing in the education of today’s students at Nordonia, we are investing in the strength of Ohio’s tomorrows.

According to one measure, Ohio tumbled from 29th to 34th in an annual ranking of America’s top states for business. The quality and availability of the work force was rated second in order of importance to businesses seeking a location in which to expand. Ohio ranked 48th out of 50 in this area, according to the survey.

Providing Ohio’s students with quality education is an urgent necessity if Ohio’s ranking is to improve. The more skilled our work force is, the more business will be drawn to the state. This positive cycle stares with a solid foundation of a quality education.

Please join me and others in the Nordonia community and support what quality schools can offer all of us.
