Letter: Writer says another levy is 'enough'

At some point we need to say “enough is enough” in regards to the constant bombardment of school levies at election time.

I’m sorry the district doesn’t think they have enough money, but we all have to make ends meet during tough economic times. There are a lot of us who aren’t getting raises and have to deal with higher universal healthcare costs.

Adding the burden of another levy onto our already strained tax bills is a bit much in my opinion. I wish I could make ends meet by magically asking other people for money and having them hand it over. Unfortunately, I live in the real world where I need to either cut costs or work more.

Frankly, the more money spent on taxes is less I have to save, spend on my family or spend in local businesses as well.

Our local politicians are up in arms promoting civil disobedience over a sewer fee that will add less than a $60 per year to the average home owner … a sewer fee that actively works to solve a man-made problem.

Meanwhile, no one says “boo” about the annual blackmailing we’re subjected to by the school district which will add hundreds of dollars to our annual tax bill. I guess a fancy new stadium isn’t enough to placate the district.

I see no end in sight. Enough is enough.
