------ ELISABETH BENNETT MILLER ------

Area resident

A Mass of Christian burial is planned for March 13 at 11 a.m. at St. Therese Church in Garfield Heights for Elisabeth Bennett Miller. Mrs. Miller, 91, of Maple Heights, died peacefully at her home after a long illness, on Feb. 24, 2009.

Mrs. Miller, known as Betty, was born to Daniel W. Cauley and Francis H. Bennett, both deceased, on Dec. 4, 1918 in Cleveland. She spent her childhood summers at the home of her grandmother, Agusta Bennett, in Junction City, Ohio, where she first enjoyed her life-long appreciation for animals, birds and flowers. She graduated with honors in English and French from Ursuline College in 1940. A mezzo soprano with a remarkable voice, Mrs. Miller loved good music and was active singing in the choir at St. Wenceslas Church for over 30 years. She was a devoted wife and mother and a welcomed friend to many.

Mrs. Miller was the wife of the beloved Robert T. C. Miller, a noted architect who designed St. Therese Church and who died in 1975; the mother of Robert B. (Patrica) of Washington D.C., Marcianne (Lonnie Darr) of Asheville, N. C., Mark C. "Murphy" (Lynne) of Cleveland, Mary A. of Maple Heights, and Michael D. (Cindy) of Macedonia; the grandmother of Daniel, Jonathan and Mackenzie Miller of Macedonia; the sister of the Rev. Robert W. Cauley, who died in 2002; and the cousin and dear friend of many.
