Korean War veteran
Mass of Christian burial was Aug. 25 at St. Barnabas Church for Joseph J. Deal. Mr. Deal, 77, of Sagamore Hills, died Aug. 20, 2010, at Hospice of the Western Reserve.
Mr. Deal served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War, where he received a Purple Heart. He loved horse racing and had many friends at Northfield Park.
Mr. Deal was the beloved husband of Nancy, nee Nowak; the dear father of Timothy (Lori) Deal Of California, Denise (Steve) Walunis of Shalersville and Joseph (Jill) Deal of North Carolina; the loving grandfather of Brooke and P.J. Baranchik and Matthew, Michael, Kylie and Joey Deal; the brother of the late Evelyn Addis and Annette Matthews.
Interment was at All Saints Cemetery Mausoleum. The family suggests contributions be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve.
Johnson-Romito Funeral Home handled arrangements.
