A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated May 13 at St. Barnabas Catholic Church with the Rev. Michael Denk officiating for Clement "Buzz" Murphy.
Mr. Murphy, 76 of Walton Hills, died May 10, 2008.
Mr. Murphy was a gentle, caring and fun-loving person who, with his constant companion Tiger, enjoyed spending time and sharing stories with his family and many friends. He was a long-time member of Plumbers Local 55, and the Walton Hills Men's Club.
Mr. Murphy was the husband of 58 years to Jean Ann (nee Tanno) Murphy and the father of Mike (Marcie) Murphy of Sagamore Hills, Bob (Rosemary) Murphy of Sagamore Hills, Pat (Ethel) Murphy of Tampa, Fla. and Tim Murphy of Atlanta, Ga. Mr. Murphy was the grandfather of Michael (Lara), Matthew (Marcy), Robert, Mackenzie, Natalie, Nicholas, and the great-grandfather of Alexandra, Tyler, Collin and Paige.
He was the son of Vincent and Pauline, both deceased, and the brother of the following: Pauline (David) Henderson; Vincent Jr., deceased; Edward, deceased (Jacqueline); Gerald, deceased (Shirley); his twin Frances (John) Zadel of Ormond Beach, Fla.; Elie (Emma Lou, deceased); Ann (Pete) Shahan of Bradenton, Fla.; John (Joanne) both deceased; Patricia (Jerome) Tyler of Slidell, La.; and brother-in-law to Nick Tanno of Las Vegas, Nev. He had dozens of nieces and nephews.
Burial was at the Northfield-Macedonia Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in his name be made to the Ireland Cancer Center at University Hospitals of Cleveland.
