Macedonia -- A Shepard Road woman is awaiting a hearing in Cuyahoga Falls Municipal Court on charges connected to allegations she stabbed a man with a steak knife.

According to court records, Sonya D. Dandridge, 36, did not enter a plea to a second-degree felony assault charge in the municipal court May 27 after police alleged the woman stabbed the man in the shoulder in her home.

According to a police report, the man was taken to a medical facility by the Macedonia Fire Department, treated and released.

Dandridge did plead not guilty to two counts of first-degree misdemeanor domestic violence, according to who court records. She was being held in Macedonia City Jail on a $1,500 bond June 2 and was scheduled for a June 4 pretrial hearing before Municipal Court Judge Kim R. Hoover.

An attorney for her could not be located.

The man told police he had been staying with Dandridge for several days and everything seemed fine until around 7:30 p.m., when she suddenly became angry when he asked to use a telephone. The man said Dandridge told him she was tired "of people bothering her," threw a plate of food in his face and walked out of the room.

The man said that while cleaning the food off his face, Dandridge returned with a knife and allegedly tried to stab him in the stomach. He said that after he pushed her away, she came at him again and allegedly stabbed him in the shoulder.

The man said he told a relative of Dandridge's to call the police. Dandridge's father, who was also present, then grabbed Dandridge and held her until police arrived, according to the report.
