Macedonia -- Police said they are still trying to identify or locate a group of men and boys who allegedly assaulted two boys on Florence Drive at about 1:30 a.m. June 14.
The victims reported that they received harassing phone calls from an unknown person who wanted to fight with them on Florence. When the boys drove to Florence, a group of boys came out of the woods and surrounded the vehicle. According to the report, one came up to one of the boys and punched him in the mouth while another punched the windshield, shattering it.
The boys left, and the boy who was assaulted called his father to report what happened while he drove to a friend's Twinsburg home. The victim and his friend returned to Florence in another vehicle, but no one was around. The father of the assaulted boy arrived and told his son and friend to go home.
While driving home, the boys and the father came to Shepard Road, where they reported there were about 20 boys and men standing on both sides of the road holding rocks, while two had handguns. The boys and the father drove to the home of a nearby family friend and called police, they said.
Macedonia police said that with the assistance of Oakwood, Twinsburg and Glenwillow police officers, they searched the Shepard area, but could not find anyone. Police said June 23 that they had been unable to identify any of the boys or men.
