'Make a Difference' in schools Oct. 25
The Nordonia Hills City School District will observe Make a Difference Day on Oct. 25.
One of the service projects that will be supported by the sale of Entertainment 2010 coupon books will be the collection of personal care items, snacks, games, books, and puzzles for care packages that will be shipped to military persons serving overseas.
Entertainment 2010 coupon books are available in the main office at Nordonia High School, 8006 South Bedford Road in Macedonia. Cleveland and Akron books are available for cost of $30 each.

seminar on bullying
The Cuyahoga Valley Career Center will offer a free seminar for parents titled "Bully-Proof Your Kid" on Oct. 21, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The seminar will be of special interest to parents of elementary and middle school age students.
Susan Fee, a licensed counselor and popular author and speaker, will explain how to recognize bullying behaviors and signs of trouble, and how to reinforce positive communication skills. She also teaches resiliency skills and how to model empathy.
The seminar is free and open to the public, but registration is requested.

Career center offers job seekers workshop
The Cuyahoga Valley Career Center will continue its series of workshops targeting adult job seekers on Oct. 7 with "Where the Jobs Are," a workshop featuring a panel of three speakers who will offer suggestions on finding jobs in healthcare, information technology and the "green" industry.
