Muni court accepting phone payments

December 16, 2009

Lisa Zeno Carano, clerk of the Stow Municipal Court announces that effective immediately, the clerk's office is accepting over the phone credit/debit payments for waiverable offenses. This convenience put in place by the clerk of courts office is to better serve the public who must utilize court services.

Carano explained, "We have accepted credit cards for many years, but offering over the phone payments are a cost-effective way for the public to save time and expense by making it unnecessary for the public to make a trip to the court or the inconvenience of paying by mail.

Offering over the phone credit card payments is just one way to make the Clerk of Courts office more user-friendly.

"It is my hope to add on-line payments in the very near future in order to create additional convenience for the public" Carano stated.

The Stow Municipal Court district encompasses 16 communities in Northern Summit County. For more information, contact the clerk's office by calling 330-564-4110.
