Macedonia -- Council is considering an increase in the city's admissions tax from 3 percent to 5 percent that could affect four businesses in town and would bring the city an extra $90,000 per year.
Finance Director Loren Sengstock said the tax is charged on admissions to three entertainment and amusement businesses, which include the Cinemark movie theater in Macedonia Commons, Fun 'n' Stuff on Highland Road and the Northwoods Lanes bowling alley on Valley View Road.
Sengstock said 2Club Golf in Longwood Park, which operates under a vendor's contract with the city, may also be subject to the tax.
