Northfield Village -- Two village men, ages 18 and 19, and a 17-year-old village teen are each facing a first-degree misdemeanor assault charge after they were accused of attacking a man outside his Rosewood Avenue home Jan. 26.
Police said they charged a second village teen, also 17, with second-degree misdemeanor obstructing official business in connection with the case.
According to police reports, the alleged victim said his sister was driving him to their home on Rosewood Avenue when they saw the four suspects walking in the center of the road ahead of them. The man said his sister blew the horn, then drove around the four and into their driveway.
The man said that when he got out of the vehicle, he had words with the men and boys. A physical altercation followed, according to the report.
According to the report, the four suspects ran away after the Rosewood Avenue man threatened to call police. Police arrested the four at two nearby homes.
Police said they issued the obstructing official business charge after the juvenile not charged with assault allegedly lied by telling them his friends were not home.
The two men were given a Feb. 9 Northfield Village Mayor's Court date and released from Macedonia City Jail on $500 bonds the next day. The teens were released to their parents pending notification of a Summit County Juvenile Court date.
