Where Charisma Falls Short by John Bean

Eight months into his presidency, President Obama is realizing that the power of charisma has its' limitations. Following a successful election campaign that was based on charm and appeal he has recently encountered problems and oppositions that won't give way to simple rhetoric. He is learning quickly that the deep-rooted oak tree called Capitol Hill is not easily displaced. He has also discovered that battling the forces that would love to destroy this country can not be accomplished with just flowery language. His extremely convoluted healthcare reform policies can not be approved (or even explained, for that matter) should the world's greatest pontificator join his staff. Furthermore, an economy in the dumpster needs a lot more than "stimulating" " it needs a government that spends more time trimming their own fat than grandstanding about the temporary injection of pain deadening Novocain it recently administered to its' countrymen.
His approval ratings are dropping quickly. The American people (apologies to the great state of Missouri) are, and always will be, a country of "show me" people.

One of the beloved founders of this great nation said it best: "Well done is better than well said." (Ben Franklin)
