During Easter people make a better effort to remember their faith and be better a person to others, in a small way echoing Jesus' sacrifice of himself for the betterment of everyone on Earth.

This desire to reach out to others is always welcome, and a great thing to see. Whatever makes people act in good faith is a positive. Making a donation to those in need, being there when a friend of family member needs you, or simply providing a smile to people you walk by are easy ways to spread happiness in this world.

But use Easter as a chance to set this more positive tone beyond just one or two days. Jesus died for the good of all people, and then rose again as a sign of hope. Lent is over, so rather than focusing on giving something up, try to a make a commitment do a little something more. Being a Christian is about loving one another regardless of race, gender, faith or other aspects that sometimes cause division.

"Do to others as you would have them do to you." (Luke 6:31)

It's a simple verse, but unlike a new year's resolution, it's much easier to follow. Every time you interact with someone, it takes the same effort to act in kind or hate to them. Remember how Jesus would act, and try and follow suit.

Currently our nation is more broken than it has been in recent history. Easter is a great time to try and mend the people around you, and that mending, if sustained, may spread. This world could use a lot more people trying to be the best person they can be.

"Finally I'm worth it, though I'm not perfect

It still feels right, and I keep on giving

Trying to make a difference, in my life

But I know another way to show

Everything I can be for You

You're all that I'll ever need

I'll give you the Best of Me." (The Letter Black, "Best of Me")
